Witty Titles Are My Middle Name :)
Jun. 22nd, 2009 09:27 amToday, I start week 2 of my grad class, which also means I only have four weeks left to work on my paper. I really need to start finding research for that. And I swear it won't be like last semester where I save it until the very last weekend because you know, that would be bad.
But I did realize there's one thing about my readings for that class that really piqued my interest. One of the therapists did work with Branch Davidian children and I've always been horribly fascinated by cults ever since my junior year when my Psych teacher loaned me the book Killer Cults: Shocking True Stories of the Most Dangerous Cults In History by James J. Boyle, which was easily one of the toughest books I've ever read but also one of the most rewarding.
On one upside, I have my summer tuition paid now :)
On another upside, I saw two great movies over the weekend.
The first being Up and the second being Fan Boys. Up made me cry in the first ten minutes but I loved every second of it. It was fun, engaging, and so vibrantly colorful. I can safely say that Pixar has yet to disappoint me. Fan Boys, which I rented from Blockbuster last night, was hysterical. It's about these four friends who, in 1998, decide to road trip it out to the Skywalker Ranch and steal a rough copy of Phantom Menace (you know, back when people were excited to have a new Star Wars movie come out). The cameos they got for this movie are redonkulous. It was great to see Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, William Shatner, Will Forte, and even, Carrie Fischer :) I definitely recommend it if you like goofy, road trip movies.
In addition to movies, I also went to a play. My dad's production company (Jim and I Productions) put on the show Noises Off, which is a delightful little farce about sardines and doors. The actors did a fantastic job and I swear they brought slapstick comedy to a whole new level.
So yeah, I'd say all in all it's been a good weekend.

His book: "The Boy Who Was Raised As A Dog" is a truly incredible read. Fastest text book I've ever gone through :)
