Today, I start week 2 of my grad class, which also means I only have four weeks left to work on my paper. I really need to start finding research for that. And I swear it won't be like last semester where I save it until the very last weekend because you know, that would be bad.

But I did realize there's one thing about my readings for that class that really piqued my interest. One of the therapists did work with Branch Davidian children and I've always been horribly fascinated by cults ever since my junior year when my Psych teacher loaned me the book Killer Cults: Shocking True Stories of the Most Dangerous Cults In History by James J. Boyle, which was easily one of the toughest books I've ever read but also one of the most rewarding.

On one upside, I have my summer tuition paid now :)

On another upside, I saw two great movies over the weekend.

The first being Up and the second being Fan Boys. Up made me cry in the first ten minutes but I loved every second of it. It was fun, engaging, and so vibrantly colorful. I can safely say that Pixar has yet to disappoint me. Fan Boys, which I rented from Blockbuster last night, was hysterical. It's about these four friends who, in 1998, decide to road trip it out to the Skywalker Ranch and steal a rough copy of Phantom Menace (you know, back when people were excited to have a new Star Wars movie come out). The cameos they got for this movie are redonkulous. It was great to see Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, William Shatner, Will Forte, and even, Carrie Fischer :) I definitely recommend it if you like goofy, road trip movies.

In addition to movies, I also went to a play. My dad's production company (Jim and I Productions) put on the show Noises Off, which is a delightful little farce about sardines and doors. The actors did a fantastic job and I swear they brought slapstick comedy to a whole new level.

So yeah, I'd say all in all it's been a good weekend.

I can't get over how much Up made me cry. As in...all the time. And I recently saw Fan Boys, too! My brother's a Star Wars nerd (not too crazy, but still) and I thought it was pretty funny. I loved Seth Rogen being in it like three times.

I think they just made it so easy to get attached to the characters. And it really changed your opinions about the old man once you realized just how how awesome his wife was.

I &hearts Seth Rogen. He's such a funny guy. And he makes a surprisngly entertaining pimp

OMG! I went to see Noises Off when I was in London. That was a looooong time ago.

Wow. You know someone who worked with Brabch Davidian children? That must have been fascinating.

I heart Noises Off.

And no, I don't actually know the guy but we're reading his book for class. His name is Dr. Perry and he is a child trauma specialist.

His book: "The Boy Who Was Raised As A Dog" is a truly incredible read. Fastest text book I've ever gone through :)

Up!!!!!!! Up is so so sad! ELLIE! Cried at every Ellie bit. And bought a great big Up sticker book from the disney store. Because I am a sap.

But best of all is the little black cloud who makes evil-babies, and his stork friend!

I cried at all the Ellie bits too. Like when he finally saw she had put stuff behind the "Stuff I'm Going To Do" page...ack! heart breaks.

And aww! Little black cloud :) That was such a clever short. Have to say it's one of my favorites.

My hubby said "If bros were allowed to cry, that's the bit I'd have cried at!"

You should rent it! It was definitely worth it.

And yay for Noises Off! The cast may have been local but they were amazing :) I heart local theater. *squishes it*

It really is a brilliant comedy :)

Have you ever watched the movie version with Nicolette Sheridan and John Ritter? That's pretty darn awesome too.

The hottie from Scotland! He played Toad on X-Men, he was Darth Maul in Star Wars.

Oh yeah, all done. I finished 4 and watched the first couple episodes of season 5 on Saturday. I missed the Ticky Tacky theme song in season 4 and beyond.

I'm glad someone's watching when I got so hooked on the show. Just one more thing we can get all fannish about when we meet in RL.
