Holiday Meme
Nov. 20th, 2009 09:19 pmI've seen this going around my flist, and I've seen it in previous years as well, and I thought I'd give it a try.
Step One
•Make an LJ post. It can be public or friends only, whatever you’re most comfortable with.
The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes, and these wishes can be anything - from simple (a fan fiction written about your favorite pairing), to medium (a DVD you want), to really extravagant (a brand new laptop or car).
Just make sure these are wishes for things you really truly want.
Step Two
•Skim through your friends list and see who has posted their own wish lists.
Then - and this is the most important part - if you find a wish you can grant, and it’s in your heart to do so, make sure that person’s wish comes true.
Sometimes a person’s trash is another person’s treasure.
If you have a leather jacket you don’t want or a gift certificate you’re never going to use, give it to someone who wants it.
Step Three
• Post this wish list any time after November 1st. Then repost it two weeks before Christmas.
• You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to.
The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday fairy--to spread the joy.
Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
• There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached.
Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive.
And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
1. A Slytherin (or Slytherin-esque) scarf. It doesn’t need to have the snake symbol or anything. Green and silver-grey would be just fine.
2. Icons just for me. Can be stock or fandom. Fandoms I would love icons from are Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Glee, and Chuck. As for stock, I’m a sucker for Renaissance-type things and butterflies.
3. Smutty fic (preferably dark) featuring one of my favorite pairings. (There’s a list of these on my profile page).
4. Any of the following songs: “Paparazzi” by Lady Gaga,“Right Round” by Flo-Rida, any songs from the Glee Soundtrack. Also will accept songs that are hilarious or songs that evoke feelings of sexuality.
5. Once A Thief – The Television Series (starring Ivan Sergei and Nicolas Lea)
- Please note: My computer does not have the ability to rip DVDs nor does it have the space to hold such things. If you want to burn them to discs (DVD-R ONLY), that would be perfectly okay as a replacement for the hard copy.
6. The Story of O – by Pauline Reage
7. Reefer Madness – The Movie Musical
Please note: My computer does not have the ability to rip DVDs nor does it have the space to hold such things. If you want to burn them to discs (DVD-R ONLY), that would be perfectly okay as a replacement for the hard copy.
8. So Sexy So Soon: The New Sexualized Childhood and What Parents Can Do to Protect Their Kids - written by Diane Levin and Jean Kilbourne. (Actually, I’d love any of Jean Kilbourne books. She’s an amazing woman!)
9. He's a Stud, She's a Slut, and 49 Other Double Standards Every Woman Should Know – written by Jessica Valenti
10. Give someone you love a hug and tell them how much you care about them.

:( sorry

Re: :( sorry
on 2009-11-21 03:05 pm (UTC)Although I do think it's a bit weird that Amazon won't send to my address since my orders come in just fine (try Apt 4, perhaps?)
