Today was...in a word...interesting in both good ways and not-so-good ways.

I went to the Registrar's Office this morning for my morning shift and did about the same thing I do every day (i.e. data entry. WOO! *sarcasm*). On the upside, Adam was around in the imaging room today so I at least got four hours of awesome social contact. He's always fun to theorize and philosophize with about Joss Whedon's various shows, and we had a great chat about old school video games as well.

Then, it was off to Internship where I was introduced to Tiffany, the new intern. She's a social work major and she seems cool enough. I know Nick would respect her stretched lobes (normally, that look grosses me out but on her it worked just fine.) I can honestly say that it's super nice to not be the new girl in town anymore, and I think some of the anxiety produced in that job faded away just a little. Probably because I felt a lot less like the object of scrutiny, and more like one of the team.

However, during group therapy today, one of the girls pointed out that I had something on my face that looked a lot like red marker. When I reached up to touch my cheek, it came back dotted in blood. Turned out the little bump near my temple had popped and so I had to rush out of the room and clean it up. I was really embarrassed.

On top of that, my ear lobe was hurting so I took out my brand new earrings when I got home and the one ear was swollen and bleeding. *sad!face* I'm really glad I still had some of my specialized earring antiseptic from getting my tragus pierced so I hope that the problem will clear up soon.

And now I'm off to watch Ugly Betty.

Peace, love, and happiness.

I have a theory it could be bunnies.

Bunnies aren't just cute like everybody supposes! They've got them hoppy legs and twitchy little noses.

I know exactly what you mean about not being the new girl anymore. I've kind of been going through that this week, and it's nice, although I'm still learning too.

And as for the other stuff, I'm sorry about the embarrassment and ouchy ear! Hope that gets better soon!

I'm also still learning, but it's nice to have a few months on someone :)

I hope it does too.

Ewwwwwch! I hate manky ears. Any kind of costume jewelery does that to my ears. I have to be very careful what I wear.

Anyway, hope you managed to get back into the therapy session okay?

See, the thing is I have a nickel allergy and the ones I bought said nickel free, but I'm started to doubt the advertising.

And yes, I did.

I was the new girl at my work for... two weeks maybe? Less than that? It's so weird working somewhere for three months and having seniority over so many other people.

I hope your ear gets better! :(

Where do you work?

And I've had that experience at my actual job, but this internship site seems to have far less turnover. I'd say that's a good thing :)

This Canadian sporting good store. It's called Sport Chek and the management is absolute crap, I get paid shit all and I hate it. But at least I have a job, so I can't complain too much.

What they do is have four or five full-time people other than the managers and then just exploit all the part-time staff. Some weeks I get 30+ hours, this week I got 10 (I booked three days off and my availability sucked, but still). They're really good with the whole, Hey, I need to take three months off, that cool? But, still. There's this really weird dynamic in the morning cause the people who are supposed to be doing work are BFF with managers so they end up doing nothing all day. It's so frustrating.

Can you sense my resentment? PLUS! We used to make commission but we don't now. Yet they still expect us to be all awkward and rude and write our numbers down on the stuff we sell. Which I never EVER do. They say it counts towards 'our raise'. Yeah, right, you'll pay me more, they're too cheap for that. Screw them all. I hate it.

But at least I have a job!

Sorry, this kinda got carried away :P But I now know a ridiculous amount about skis and snowboards, and ski/snowboard boots. So if you ever need to know anything... :P Oh, and ski socks. I can go on about those for way too long...
