I'm going to play this one my way and select a show that's awesome, but off the air, and select a show that's awesome, and still on the air.

That means:

Dead Like Me

and

Leverage.

I started watching Dead Like Me fairly recently as I caught the pilot episode at my parent's house on a network channel (they don't have cable.) I was instantly hooked by the quirky angstiness of this show. The general premise is that this young girl (about 17) gets murdered when a zero gravity toilet seat hits her. What happens next is she becomes a grim reaper and it's her job to save various souls. She does this with the help of post-its and a rag-tag team of other grim reapers who have way more experience. I will grant that first season is superior to second season (and the movie tie-in failed miserably). But I loved it all anyways.

As for Leverage, it already gets credence for starring Christian Kane. But on top of that, the cast is well-formed and it's fun to watch these robbers play Robin Hood. Without a doubt, my favorite characters are Parker, Hardison, and Eliot. They are a total dream team of comedy and sexiness.

Oh I love both show so much!!

I enjoyed both seasons of Dead like me but the movie was a big big disappointment. It could have been so much better.

And Leverage rocks!

I watched half an episode of Dead Like Me and the main girl really annoyed me. Tell me it's worth my while trying again?

I think you'd like Mason. I think he could distract you from the main character.

I never had the urge to watch Dead Like Me, but considering I've seen Brian Fuller's other shows, maybe I should reconsider.

Also, now that I know more of the story behind Leverage, I might want to check it out too. Hmm...

I heard about that! I was sad to hear the news, but he's has some health issues in the past, so it might be better this way.

I just started watching Dead Like Me on Wednesday, out of the blue! It's good to know that other people like it as well, will make me feel less crazy when I talk about it on my LJ.

And well, Leverage is pretty awesome too...
