I've got to go with Heroes on this one. When the show first started, I was thrilled. It was explosive, engaging, and the characters had unique back stories and powers that piqued my curiosity. Sure, some characters got on my nerves (*coughcough*Claire*coughcough*), some characters had way too many lives (*coughcough*Niki*coughcough*), some characters were sadistic, cruel, and totally hot (I'm looking at you, Sylar), and too many characters were related to each other (dammit Kring, Peter and Claire had chemistry! You never should have decided to make Peter her uncle). But overall, season 1 felt consistent and it felt like this show could redefine the science fiction/fantasy genre.

Needless to say...season 2 felt flat in comparison to season 1. I kept persevering, hoping for that shiny payoff, but it never came.

When Season 3 started and my schedule became more jam-packed with school, I came to the conclusion that I was better off cutting my losses and giving this show the boot. And I'm glad I did.

Good riddance.

It's sad when a show falls down. Law and Order: Criminal Intent just did that and I will never forgive it.

The only good thing about Season 2 was Takezo Kensei. Because, dayum, I'd hit that. ;-)

But like you, by season 3 I'd lost the will. I watched maybe 6 episodes then just couldn't be arsed. Sad.

Wow, that is exactly the same reaction I had to Heroes as well! I loved the first season, thought the second was meh, and gave up around the middle of the third... just before I found HIMYM!

I totally agree with you about everything about the fact season 4 made the trick for me... in a bad way of course.

Actually, season 3 was BY FAR my favorite. I realize I may be the only person in all of existence who thinks so, but the character stuff in season 3 (especially for Sylar, Horned Rimmed Glasses, and Mama Petrelli) was seriously engrossing, and the "Fugitives" arc in the second half of the season was tense and suspenseful. I think it also benefits from being marathoned, rather than watched week to week.

I never really expect to convince anybody to give season 3 a chance, but I feel like season 2 poisoned most of the good will the show had and season 3 got a bad deal out of it as a result. It is in all seriousness, though, one of my favorite seasons of television.

I do love HRG. "Company Man" is one of my favorite episodes.

Also...I'm pretty sure I was done with it before "Fugitives" started.

And I agree. Season 2 definitely did raise a lot of faith in the show.

Making Claire and Peter related was a baaad idea. They still had awesome 'I looooove you' chemistry even after the whole related thing.

Did anyone ever find out about that girl Peter left in the future?

Hence, why I shipped Paire for a long time.
