Weekend Recap

On Saturday, Nick spent most of the day working on his car while I watched more episodes of the Vampire Diaries. I'm through episode 11 now and I'm definitely enjoying it for the guilty pleasure that it is. Damon is such an amusing little drama queen, Caroline is probably my favorite character, and it made me quite happy to see Jasmine Guy (from Dead Like Me), Bianca Lawson (Kendra from BtVS), and Gina Torres as guest stars. Once dusk came, we headed out to the park to watch the first fireworks show ever held in Portage. It wasn't the most amazing show I've ever seen, but it wasn't bad either.

On Sunday, we drove two hours to hang out with our friend Kit at his dad's annual 4th of July extravaganza. We had a pig roast, went on the pontoon boat, and watched a whole bunch of fireworks explode over the lake that Kit's dad lives on. In addition to that, Rose and I spent some quality time giggling like 12 year olds about corn holes and blue balls and fireworks shaped like boobs. I really wish I got to see that girl more often. She's so damn nifty, even when she's doing a "naughty thing" in the background of the obligatory couple photo that James took of me and Nick. :)


Today, we drove out to Milwaukee, ate breakfast at the Forum (which has the craziest ceilings ever), and wandered around a comic book store for a bit before we headed back to Kit's apartment to marathon old episodes of Futurama.

Good times, good times.

As for tomorrow, it will be my first day at Power Packer actually subbing for JoAnn. I'm definitely not looking forward to waking up at 6 AM, but I hope that it goes well.

Vampire Diaries is definitely on my to-watch list as I've seen episodes here and there and I like it but I've been obsessed with other shows.

Yeah I don't think it'll ever get that way for me but I just haven't found the time to watch it because of other shows.

I really don't watch a lot of TV on the actual television and when I watch it on the computer, I tend to do marathons of it.

Fireworks FTW! Well, fireworks shows anyway. In CA people just set them off in their backyards or the middle of the street (morons!) and scare my dog.
