I've got a couple of friends doing this and they've inspired me to do it as well. Only difference is mine will be here on LJ only as I don't feel the need to open a Flickr account.
So here's Day One: Life Outside the Computer Screen
There is a whole group for the project here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/365days/
And there are all sorts of theme challenges, and encouragement, and milestone markers, and comment threads - and a ton of amazing people doing the project!
And then you can post a week's worth of photos here, and not clog your friends friendpages here - and we can see the whole week together (which is always impressive and fun variety.
you upload the picture, and number the image....and then you click "send to group" above the image, and send it to the group.
You can also create little sets for your images (example "nudes" "black and white" "pictures of strangers' feet" - and categorize your images into as many sets as you'd like. get that far and I'll show you around flickr more. It seems hard to get into, but after a few days on there I loved it.
Well, it took me until my third day to figure out what you were talking about but I've finally sent Day One to the group :O) even though I've taken Days 1-3 already. *shrugs* I'm still excited about all this :)
yeah the site is really difficult to parse at first....everything seems hidden....mainly because you don't know what you're looking for until you know the site....then suddenly it's awesome.
PS - I prefer to do my daily uploads there and the weekly here, cuz people are going onto flickr looking for photos, and onto LJ looking for text.....photoposts make a nice bonus, but I feel guilty doing it too constantly, as this really isn't a photosharing site.
