Today's woman might not be familiar to all of you, but I feel the need to squee about her anyways.

Jean Kilbourne, Ed. D
She's a feminist author, speaker, and filmmaker who focuses a lot of her work on the portrayal of women in advertising and how it relates to the prevalence of eating disorders and violence against women. Examples of her work include: Killing Us Softly: Advertising's Image of Women and So Sexy, So Soon: The New Sexualized Childhood and What Parents Can Do to Protect Their Kids.
Several years ago, I had the pleasure of attending a conference where she was keynote speaker and it was much like being in the presence of a celebrity.
Finished my first draft of my C2C fic last night. It's 5,032 words and I'm so grateful to have it done so soon before the deadline (my posting date is the week of the 13th-19th).
YAY!
