My lunch/movie date with
dragonydreams when off without a hitch.
We both got cheddar butter burgers (I do love me some real Wisconsin cheese. NOM!) Then, we followed it up with frozen custard (which is kind of like ice cream, but more awesome.)
Afterward, we went to see Black Swan.
Prior to this film, my only experience with the director, Darren Aronofsky, was Requiem for a Dream (which in my honest opinion is two degrees south of intensely eff-ed up while still being extremely well done.)
In my opinion, Black Swan followed a similar recipe only, instead of drugs, it focused on the world of ballet and descent into madness. I'm still pretty much sitting on the line of "huh" and "whoa!"
Natalie Portman did some of her best work in this film, though I still can't forgive her for her wooden portrayal of Amidala in the Star Wars prequels.
My favorite actress in the film, however, was Mila Kunis. She was dramatic, funny, and had the best line in the whole movie. ("You had a lezzie wet dream about me? Was I good?")
This is definitely a movie I'll be seeing again.

on 2010-12-30 02:54 am (UTC)I've never been a fan of Natalie Portman as an actress, but she was phenomenal in this. I agree that Mila Kunis was stronger however (mostly because I've always adored her).
