Day 4: Siblings
Jan. 7th, 2011 09:36 pmMary Ann:
You fill the shoes of oldest sister quite well. Over the years, you've looked out for me, you've teased me ruthlessly, and you've shared a few of my interests (theater, reading, and piano being the top three).
You've also been my role model. I'm not sure I have the same guts you do when it comes to something like volunteering for the Peace Corps, but that still doesn't keep me from feeling inspired by the journey you took to become the woman you are. Plus, I have the awesome right of bragging about the fact that you reached the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Things aren't always perfect between us and I frequently feel left out when you and Katie are in a room together. Even so, I can say with surety that I don't regret choosing you as the person who first learned about Nick. Granted, you were half a world away then so it made it easy to share that secret, but still...I think the point stands.
Love you lots,
Punkarella
Katie:
I'm still not sure I get you.
I know that you're a fierce competitor, an excellent mother, and you seem to have a really good thing going with your husband.
Outside of that, I often feel a disconnect and I don't really know exactly how you feel about me. I've pretty much settled on you thinking that I'm weird and frankly, I think you're superficial.
Still love you though. Warts and all (and when I say warts, I mean it figuratively as your skin is so flawless that I doubt you've ever had one.
-Annie (only because I know how stubborn you are when it comes to calling me Ann.)
