A Deceased person you wish you could talk to
Dr. Poorman-
I always felt like you transformed the field of psychology with your teaching style, or at least you did for me. You challenged us to be different, to step outside of our comfort zones, to make a difference in the world. Yes, you were tough, but you cared and supported your students 110%.
I still remember what you said during the Women's Studies reception held for graduating students. You told me I wasn't afraid to run headlong into a controversial topic holding a live grenade. To those who might not have been privy to our interactions, I'm sure this probably seemed like an off-putting metaphor, but it meant more to me than words could ever say. I wish you were still around so I could tell you about all the hell I've been raising (and all the hell I hope to raise someday.)
I hate that you were killed in that accident. That the girl who was high and drunk walked away unscathed. I know she's up for early release from the prison sentence she served and I hope that she's denied that right.

The person who caused you a lot of pain
Broke West:
You were my best friend in middle school. You heard all my secrets, helped me through all my doubts and insecurities. You accepted me with warm arms and a non-judgmental heart and I did the same for you. You also opened me up to a world of bi-curiosity when we dated for a month. But then...you e-mailed me. You fucking broke up with me over e-mail and claimed you were too busy to maintain a relationship. When I called that night and asked if we could still be friends, you said you didn't know.
You really meant...no.
It didn't take long for me to burn every photo and every memory of you I had. But none of it helped. It hurt for a long time.
Lucky for you, I found Nick because he's helped me move on. He's helped me heal. He's more of a best friend than you could ever hope to me.

People seem to be especially terrible in middle school, and I can see why that in particular would have an impact on you. I'm glad you have Nick now and that he's been able to help you heal and be so much more for you.
