Apr. 8th, 2011 03:12 pmToday I got an email from the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (aka the big state job I interviewed for back in September, but it took them months to get back to me just to tell me I got rejected?)
Anyway, the email wasn't offering me a job somewhere or anything. But it did say that if I ever wanted to be deemed eligible than I would have to fill out the application again since they will be pulling from a new registry of applicants starting April 25th.
This means I have about a week to decide if I want to try and throw my hat back into the ring that wound up causing me quite a bit of stress since I first applied for that job back in May 2010, didn't get in interview until September, and didn't get rejected until November.
With all the shit going on in the Wisconsin government these days, my initial response is wariness. Governor Walker has already shown that he takes little stock in the lives of state employees and there's no doubt in my mind that if given the chance, he'd follow in the foot-steps of the Florida governor and cut funding to social services/disability programming.
*sigh*
I just don't know if it's worth it, you know?

on 2011-04-08 11:09 pm (UTC)You could also look into Federal Jobs through USAJobs.
I also rather agree with Lisa's solution and Carla's advice. :)

on 2011-04-08 11:11 pm (UTC)As for USAJobs, I have looked there countless times. There's not much out there for a gal like me who's not really interested in moving.
As for my heart, it still says to trust that the Pauquette Center will have me working with them in no time.

on 2011-04-09 07:36 am (UTC)I do think you should apply for "the big state job", even if it's just to see whether you get it. And hopefully Pacquette will let you know to start soon, so the other application will just be a back-up. Fingers crossed and good luck!
