I know I have several friends on my flist who are as obsessed with this show as I am and so without further adieu, I wanted to post this link to an article that both intrigued and irritated me.

Politics of Parks and Recreation

That article just succeeded in annoying me. I think they really overgeneralized the characters, and it felt to me like it had a very conservative slant, like they were passing judgment on caring about the "faceless masses" and saying that liberals forget that "charity starts at home"-- especially since I feel like Leslie is very caring for her friends. She gets carried away with her love of Pawnee and expects a lot out of the people who work for her, but I don't think that qualifies her as an unfeeling tyrant.

... but maybe I'm missing the point. :P

Also I need a P&R icon!

I really don't think you are.
I found it to be the same way.

Not only that but the example of Leslie falling asleep for 22 hours at Ann's house doesn't include all the details. Leslie had been awake for 48 hours prior, didn't know about Ann's feelings towards Mark until that day, and attempted to be there for her friend (who happens to be a nurse!)

I also wish the writer had talked more about the awesome ways Leslie does extend her love to her friends.
