snogged: ([HP] Hermione)

Again, I'm a sucker for quotes.

Ron: No, it’s not that. It’s Hermione. It’s just like I can’t get her out of my head and every time I look at her I have these pains in my chest and I just know it’s her fault, that bitch.

Cedric: "Hufflepuffs are particularly good finders!"
Dumbledore: "What the HELL is a Hufflepuff?"

Lavender Brown: Bitch, I ain’t Cho Chang.

Cho: I’m Cho Chang, ya’ll.

Voldemort: I believe everything has its place, Muggles have their place. Mudbloods have their place. And so do your dirty clothes! Namely a dresser!

Voldemort : I learn something when I got my body back, I learn that life it’s really messy, complicated, and doesn’t turn out the way you think it will. You think that killing people might make them like you, but it doesn’t, it just makes people dead. I got killed by a two year old, it’s really embarrassing, and people get like ‘When you’re gonna come back Voldemort?’ ‘When you gonna take over the world ?’ It’s on me, it’s all on me. I sit there all by myself because nobody wants to help, and I say to myself, maybe with Quirrell, things would be ok.
Quirrell: Is ok good?
Voldemort: Quirrell, OK is wonderful.

So I met with Compass Counseling today for an information gathering/informal interview that I received based on the cold call I'd made to them a week or so ago.

1. Full-time is not an option so I'm likely going to need to work at least two jobs, possible three (if the Autism Project ever gets around to setting me up with a new kid). Both therapists are moms and to them, family comes before business. Neither one meets with clients on Mondays or Fridays (so I'd probably meet with clients on those days since their offices would be free) and they see clients 14-25 hours a week.

2. Neither one has supervised a trainee before, but if they're eligible (which I believe they are), they'd like to give it a try.

3. They couldn't pay me hourly. If Medicaid won't bill for me, it will (probably) not be feasible for me to be hired because they don't have a lot of clients who pay out of pocket and right now, Medicaid is the only insurance available in the state that will bill for a counselor-in-training. I understand the reasoning behind this so I'm not grouchy about that.

4. They want to make sure I'm comfortable working with religious clients because they do have a chunk of those in their client base. I believe (and told them this) that I would be open-minded enough to explore religion/spirituality with clients who needed me. I also said that if it came down to it, I'd be willing to refer the client to one of them.

5. They seem to really like me and would like to be accommodating if they can be.

6. They will be calling me back next week to set-up another interview.

So I guess my current assessment is...there is hope, but there's still a buttload of uncertainty. Also, I'd have to pay for my own professional liability insurance (which would be covered at the Pauquette Center) and that part kinda sucks.

While it has significant drawbacks, the good news is that they like you and at least there's the possibility of something.

I realize there are pros and cons here, but it sounds promising.

Thanks for sharing the extra info. Sounds like there are some ups and downs... but I suppose you'll get that with most opportunities. :)

While not a perfect position, at least it was a good interview.

On the bright side, I am glad that you're getting more nibbles. I really hope you end up with something that fits you perfectly, but meanwhile it's good that you're finding things by and by that can suit some of your needs in the meantime. *hugs*

Firstly, this all sounds encouraging - that job may not be perfect, but at least it'll give you experience and that's what you need right now.

Secondly, GOD I LOVE YOUR QUOTES! *hugs Voldemort forever*

Babe, I need more than just experience. I need to get my license and to do that, I need people who are eligible to supervise me.
