snogged: ([Starship] Kick It Up A Notch)
[personal profile] snogged
I'm going to play catch-up on the meme tomorrow because I only have to put in a few hours for my Autism Project job and none of the other ones because the temp. job ended last Friday and I only work at Pauquette on Thursdays.(So Woo! Short day!)

Anywho, my weekend (and the trip it included) was really quite cool.

On Sunday, Nick and I woke up, packed up some overnight stuff and my baking supplies (due to the time constraints, I opted to make my dessert at Kit's dad's house), and we headed down to East Troy. We wound up chilling at Kit's for awhile after getting lunch at Cousin's Subs. I can honestly say that watching True TV's "World's Dumbest..." marathon was not a waste of time. In fact, it was really rather funny (in addition to being a bit sad because people are just so darn stupid.)

After a couple of hours at Kit's, we headed down to Kit's dad's house in Wind Lake where I was reintroduced to MaryAnn (Kit's dad's girlfriend), MaryAnn's daughter, and MaryAnn's fifteen-year old granddaughter. It was here that I learned that not only are these women really polite to everyone, they're also Mormons. As someone who's been listening to the Book of Mormon - OBC non-stop, I found myself singing certain lines under my breath and then giggling to myself about it. :P

While I was waiting on my brownies to cook, MaryAnn spent some time talking to me about her reflexology clinic and reiterated the fact that I come to her anytime and she'll give me a free session. Well, in addition to that offer, she also gave me a free pair of Nike's because she's currently got a contract with them and she has no clue what to do with all the shoes they sent. They aren't normally what I'd pick out of the store (white with neon orange bottoms), but the price was right and they fit so I figured I came out as the winner. :)

Once the rest of the guests showed up, I spent most of my time with Steve, Rose, Nick and Kit (since they're the ones I knew the best.) Steve, bless him, got increasingly drunk as the night wore on and deemed Rose and I the "Titty Club." If it were any other man, I would have been highly offended. But I've known Steve as long as I've known Nick and he normally presents as a harmless IT nerd who's never been the smoothest around women. Instead, Rose and I took it in stride and made jokes throughout the night to taunt him. It was amusing as hell.

As the sun starting to sink, the boys (Kit, Ralph, Matt and James) started the fireworks show with all of the fun things they'd purchased. It's nice that Wind Lake allows it's residents to shoot off mortars and things. Certainly makes for a wicked cool show.

After fireworks, we headed back to Kit's, watched random cartoons and fell asleep. I got to sleep on the Arrow Air Mattress that Kit's dad let us borrow and it was honestly the best air mattress I've ever slept on. It was the double the size of most air beds and didn't even lose shape or much air!

In the morning, we woke up and got breakfast at this place called the Grist Mill. My Eggs Benedict was amazing! Then, we spent the afternoon eating cookies (I found Chips Ahoy with Reeses' Peanut Butter pieces. OMG! YUM!) and watching random shit off of Kit's DVR. Good times.

Hope you all had a happy Fourth!
