velvetwhip who’s having a really, shitty day. I’m hoping to cheer her up.
Angel stared into the emptiness of the fireplace. Countless thoughts were running through his mind. He thought about Buffy, he thought about the deception, he thought about Faith, and he thought about Willow. Willow, the innocent red-head, who had come to him a few nights ago in tears because her and Oz had a fight. Willow, the girl he had consoled and kissed. It had started as a soothing kiss on the forehead but when she had looked into his eyes, he had wanted to devour her. He wanted to taste her innocence. He wanted to get her out of his head. But no matter how hard he tried to think about other things, she wouldn’t leave.
The dark drapes flung open and sunlight flooded the room. Willow ran inside, tears streaming down her cheeks.
“B-B-Buffy…I…she…Angel…she…she…she…” Willow stammered.
Angel smiled softly. She was adorable when she babbled. “She what, Willow?” He stepped towards her and placed his hands on her shoulders.
“She…she…can read people’s thoughts! Our thoughts! My thoughts! My bad, dirty thoughts! My thoughts about her boyfriend! ” Willow blurted, her arms were shaking at her sides. “Angel, what if she…what if she knows. Oh god.” Willow looked down at the ground, nibbling on her lower lip.
Angel cupped his hand under her chin and gently forced her to look into his eyes. “She will know nothing.”
Willow fervently chewed on her lower lip. Tears still soaked her cheeks. “You don’t know that. I’m a bad liar. Me with the lying is a whole bunch of not good.”
Angel chuckled softly.
“This isn’t funny. This is bad. Very, very bad. We need to fix it.”
“And we will,” Angel replied, kissing her softly on the lips. “I’m sure Giles is working out a plan as we speak. And if she comes to see me, she can’t read my thoughts. It’s like a mirror. The thoughts will be there but they won’t reflect into her. So just relax, babe.”
Willow let out a long exhale. “You’re probably right.”
“I know I am.” Angel replied. He kissed her again. “Now, go back to school. Everything’s going to be just fine. I promise. Buffy will never know what happened.”
Willow nodded. Buffy couldn’t know what happened. Willow just wished that she could pretend that it had never happened either. It would make it so much easier if she didn’t have to deal with the fact that she had thoughts about her best friend’s boyfriend or even that she had kissed her best friend’s boyfriend. Especially since her best friend’s boyfriend would never be hers.
