velvetwhip’s new layout. Dedicated to
velvetwhip,
lilbreck, and
watchersgoddess for feeding my Willow/Angelus addiction recently.
Angelus had always been an enigma to her ever since she found his written history in The Watcher’s Diaries. His human form had barely been discussed within the crinkled, yellowed pages. She knew he had been a drunk and a womanizer and lazy from the small tidbits in the books and from the things that Buffy had told her. What confused her was Angelus’s flair for the dramatic. The way he tortured his victims, the way he killed them. It wasn’t just “slash and go” like the typical vampire. It was a performance. It was a three act play with twists and turns, love and comedy, bloodshed and murder. She wondered how such darkness could come from the human man he had once been.
Seeing the real thing and being a part of that performance was another thing though. She felt phantom pains in her neck from where he had choked her. She could still feel his cold body pressed against her. She could still hear his menacing tone. His taunting invaded her thoughts. He had called her “cute and helpless.” He had pinched her cheek as if she was his silly granddaughter. She could only imagine what could have happened if he had killed her or taken her as a captive. The thought made her shudder. Angelus scared her but she didn’t want to run away from him.
She felt drawn to him. She was fascinated by his power and darkness. She wanted to know more. She wanted to explore the mind of one of the scariest monsters in history. She wanted to know him. She wanted to know how he came to be the way he was. She wanted to feel his cold touch again. She wanted to see what performance he would concoct for her.
It felt like he had wrapped chains around her mind, binding her to him. It felt overpowering and controlling. She couldn’t put her finger on why she felt this way but every time she breathed, she could feel him all around her. He invaded every sense. It was strange feeling but she wasn’t sure she wanted it to stop. There was a part within that wanted to remain captive, to remain in the embrace of this darkness, to remain a prisoner of a love so strange. There was a part of her that wanted him to find her. She wanted to see how it would end.
