The dream had plagued him every night for the last week. Each night was the same. Each night he found himself in a luscious green valley surrounded by rolling hills and a sparkling stream. He could feel the sunlight against his face but he never burst into flames.
Each night he would walk through this landscape and find her, a fair maiden with long, flowing red hair. She would reach out to him, brushing her fingers across his skin. Her green eyes twinkled with a hint of mystery. Each night he found himself falling in love with her.
But each night she would whisper “Promise me, when you see a white rose, you’ll think of me. I love you so and I will never let go. I will be your ghost of a rose” and disappear into the smoky, grey fog of the moors.
And each night he would try to grasp her before she vanished.
But who was she? What did she want with him? He knew that she wasn’t Buffy but he couldn’t figure out who else it could be.
Then a white rose appeared on his desk, almost as if it had materialized there. It was at that moment that he knew who the mysterious maiden of his dreams was. It was Willow, the sweet, shy hacker witch who had always held a piece of his heart. He sighed heavily, brushing his fingers against the fragile petals. This was a message from her. She needed him to follow her into the mist but how could he follow when she never gave him more than a glimpse of her direction?
