Family Rant
Nov. 28th, 2007 09:14 amOkay, so I have an issue of which I feel its necessary to rant and vent so please bear with me.
This weekend is my four year anniversary with Nick. Specifically, the date is Sunday, December 2nd and I have been looking forward to this weekend for the last few months. This upcoming weekend also marks the date of me having several major projects completed for Grad School so naturally, I'm looking forward to spending time with my boy and de-stressing.
Last night, my sister Katie called me to talk to me about the holiday portrait that her and Mary Ann had been planning to give to my parents. We were supposed to do it the Sunday after Thanksgiving but the photographer's light bulb burned out so it got postponed. Well, Katie told me that the only day her and Mary Ann could do the picture is Sunday, December 2nd in the morning. They are insisting that I do this and I really don't feel that it's (a) worth it for me to drive the hour and a half to Nick's and then another hour and a half home and an hour and a half back to Nick's and an hour and a half back to my apartment. (b) that I should have to sacrifice my weekend of relaxing anniversary time with Nick.
I love my family but I think it's ridiculous that my sisters want to make this demand on me. When I mentioned this to Katie yesterday, she didn't seem to care and wouldn't acknowledge how important this weekend is to me. Based on that, I just see every reason to tell her no when I give her my answer tomorrow night.
I mean, if all else fails, they can get the picture of the two of them and I can set up a separate appointment. I'm certain the technology is good enough to photoshop the picture.
