Willow learned quickly that disobedience was not an option under Angelus’s reign. He was like a commander of a naval ship, if that ship was full of vampire minions.
She had watched Spike learn that lesson many times in the last week as Angelus tore the younger vampire’s flesh open with the whip.
At first it scared her. She had wanted to scream something, save Spike somehow. But there was something in Spike’s eyes that gave her pause. It was as if he wanted it. Wanted the punishment and the force behind it.
Either that or he just liked the end part where Angelus fucked him into the wall.

“Great story how we got those too, pet.” Spike chuckled softly.
“You got arrested?” Willow asked.
“Not exactly.” Angelus flashed Spike a knowing smirk, as if they were content to keep their little secret from her. “Let’s just say Spike and I had a bit of fun down at the old Sunnydale Precinct.”
Willow caught the smiles between them and it occurred to her that it was probably better not to ask.

Deception was an easy game for Spike and Angelus. They had spend hundred of years weaving beautifully intricate lies to get what they wanted. Most vampires had some skill in it but they were at the top of heap.
But things were different with Willow in the house. Her bright smile and soft eyes could pull the devil himself out of any self-respecting vampire. She could probe most anything out of them if she just set her mind to it. It seemed there was no combination more dangerous than brains and beauty.
They decided early on that it was necessary to put a stop to it real quick before she made them honest men.
