Characters/Pairings: Lindsey/Angel
Challenge: Wish
Warnings: language, angst, character death
Blind Date
He saved three children tonight. That made him a big, damn hero, didn’t it? That made him just like Angel. It made him noble. Lawyers at Wolfram and Hart didn’t know the fucking meaning of the word noble.
But that still hadn’t stopped Holland for offering him a promotion. And it was tempting to take it.
But there was a part of him that wished Angel was here to talk him out of it. To remind him that even the darkest soul can still be redeemed. But Angel wasn’t here to save him and that’s why he shut the doors.
Dead End
Angel was standing there, looking smug, tracing his fingers along the side of Lindsey’s truck.
It was annoying behavior but Lindsey was used to it. They had danced this two-step many times, circling each other, feigning civility.
It could have been the evil hand talking but Lindsey wanted to push him down onto the hood of the truck and disintegrate the sexual tension that existed between them.
It was a stupid wish, though. All really wanted was a bon voyage to remember but there was no way Angel would grant it. Bastards like him didn’t know how to play nice.
Nepal
Nepal was nothing like Texas or even Los Angeles for that matter.
For starters, it was cold most of the time since the monks he was living with had chosen a location right near the Himalayas.
And the second problem was Angel was not there.
It seemed like an odd thing to bitch about but he missed the fucker. He missed their banter and he was even started to miss the pummelings Angel gave him. Most of the bruises had faded now. The only tangible thing he had to remember Angel with was his fake hand and that wasn’t enough.
Underneath
The sun shined the same way it did every day, the kid was still struggling with the same homework, the oven light always burned out, and the basement continued to terrify him for reasons he didn’t completely understand. He knew he got tortured, he knew he got his heart cut out, but he still didn’t know why.
What he did know is that whenever he closed his eyes, he saw a man. A tall man with handsome features and an arrogant smirk.
He wished that man were here now. Lindsey was positive that the man was supposed to save him.
Not Fade Away
The two slugs ripped through his chest cavity, wreaking havoc on his internal organs. The grim reaper was standing there with outstretched arms, waiting for him to fall.
He closed his eyes, blocking out the sight of Lorne’s hard stare. Once more, he found himself wishing for Angel to be there. He had never gotten to tell him what he wanted too. Never gotten to tell him how he really felt.
But what difference would it have made? Angel would have brushed him off with the same cruelty that impacted his decision to use Lorne as an assassin. Fucking prick.
