I had a marvelous time yesterday. :)

The restaurant was just as fun as I remember it being. I started the night with a martini called the Firefly, picked because a prominent ingredient is Midori Melon liqueur, which is my most favorite thing in the universe. Alicia told me to pick an appetizer so I went with a half order of the beer-battered cheese curds. For the meal, I had clam chowder, orange braised bourbon chicken, mashed potatoes, and a vegetable market medley (broccoli, carrots, and turnips.) (The leftover chicken and potatoes made an excellent lunch today. :P) Then, Alicia and I split a chocolate lave cake. It was so gosh darn amazing!

The show (Avenue Q) absolutely lived up to my expectations. All of the actors and actresses put their hearts and souls (and comedic chops) into their roles. My absolute favorites though were Kate Monster, the Bad Idea Bears, and Trekkie Monster. The actress playing Kate made the cutest facial expressions. The Bad Idea Bears (my friend, Naomi, included) had the cutest voices. And Trekkie was just funny as hell. While at the show, I ran into one of my old college (from undergrad) friends so that was a nice treat.

This morning, Alicia made an amazing breakfast. This included a Farmer's Casserole (hashbrowns, ham, eggs, cheese, green onions), cranberry-orange scones, and a berry medley (blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries.) I was also introduced to the show Tosh 2.0. I found that to be pretty funny. :)

So now I must ask the following question: why do I have to go back to work tomorrow? I really wish this weekend could last one or two more days....

I cannot contain my joy regarding this weekend. It's going to be epic-dary, I tell you, EPIC-DARY!

For starters, I spent last night chilling at home. I got my 20th book read for the year and managed to read my fifth book for this month. I also watched some Saved By The Bell on Netflix. Of course, now I can't get the theme song out of my head. :P

Today, though, is where most of my excitement comes in. I'm driving down to see my friend Alicia from graduate school and we're going to the Speakeasy for dinner. I've only been there once before, but the food is amazing and the drinks are too! Plus, they hide their drink menus in books that have obscure medical or biological titles, like Medical Diseases just in case the coppers try to raid this delightful restaurant straight out of the 1920's. :P It's going to be tough to decide what to eat though. Right now, I'm thinking the Bacon-Wrapped Bourbon Shrimp or the Orange Braised Bourbon chicken....

After dinner, we're going to a COMMUNITY theater production of Avenue Q. I've been listening to the OBC recording for this for the last few years ago and I think it's hilarious. I've always wanted to see it performed live and I'm glad I have the chance to do so now. I'm also excited because one of my friends who used to DJ at a karaoke bar I frequented in college and now works at the Bristol Ren Faire has a part in it. She plays a Bad Idea Bear. :P Such a perfect part for her, I tell ya!

Anyhow, I'm off to squee.

Catch you on the flip side!
