*I read 10 books in the month of January. Of the ten, the one I was most impressed with was Looking For Alaska by John Green. The one I was least impressed with was: Zen of Zombie by Scott Kennemore. I wanted to kick in his misogynistic face.

*I'm currently reading The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern and I must admit that it's a book to be savored. I can't bring myself to read it quickly because I just don't want to leave her world yet.

*I've seen five movies so far this year (excluding my rewatch of Ghostbusters because I'm trying to only list new movies.)

*I got a Kindle Keyboard with a shiny green book cover. I already have three books loaded onto it and plan to read one of them as soon as I finish The Night Circus.

*I have been watching That 70's Show on Netflix Instant Streaming, but I couldn't even finish Season 4 because of Netflix's stupid expiration dates on stuff and because I was having trouble getting things to buffer correctly.
Up until this past weekend, I hadn't had much issue with buffering, but now, it takes an hour just to watch a 20 minute show. And it's not just Netflix either. My whole damn internet has been slowed down dramatically. Nick, who is also on the same connection, is not having an issue with speed so it's clearly just my computer's fault. We ran virus scans last night, but they found nothing. It could possible be a RAM issue since I only have 512 MB of it on my 11-year old computer.
I wish I knew how to fix this slowness problem because it's really ticking me off.

Sorry to end a mostly shiny list on a sour note, but that's just the way it goes.

Just got this email from the Netflix team:

We are separating unlimited DVDs by mail and unlimited streaming into two separate plans to better reflect the costs of each. Now our members have a choice: a streaming only plan, a DVD only plan, or both.

Your current $9.99 a month membership for unlimited streaming and unlimited DVDs will be split into 2 distinct plans:

Plan 1: Unlimited Streaming (no DVDs) for $7.99 a month
Plan 2: Unlimited DVDs, 1 out at-a-time (no streaming) for $7.99 a month

Your price for getting both of these plans will be $15.98 a month ($7.99 + $7.99). You don't need to do anything to continue your memberships for both unlimited streaming and unlimited DVDs.

These prices will start for charges on or after September 1, 2011.

You can easily change or cancel your unlimited streaming plan, unlimited DVD plan, or both, by going to the Plan Change page in Your Account.

We realize you have many choices for home entertainment, and we thank you for your business. As always, if you have questions, please feel free to call us at 1-888-357-1516.

What the fuck, Sherlock? Do you honestly expect me to pay for your services (i.e. 1 DVD by mail and Unlimited Streaming that's not always reliable and doesn't have the best selection) at a 60% increase?

Oh hell to the no.

I absolutely fucking hate that they're doing this.

I have a feeling I'll be canceling my subscription out-right come August 31st unless changes are made.
