1. I attended the Wisconsin Counseling Association's Fall Summit over the weekend and had the pleasure of running into old classmates, as well as running into folks from last year's summit who remembered me (sure, this was mostly just a kick-ass chick named Sabryn, but who cares? It's nice to be remembered.) This was a wonderful thing because it meant I had an automatic lunch buddy. There was also an amazing keynote speaker who spoke about celebrating the resilient self and his poignant and emotional story brought the room to tears.
2. I watched X-Men: First Class (Finally) and I enjoyed it. James McAvoy is totally adorable and Jennifer Lawrence makes a fantastic Mystique.
3. I'm nearly done with season 3 of Coupling and I heart the heck out of Gina Bellman. She's so good at hamming up her role.
4. I told several of my work colleagues at Pauquette about my move to the Department of Voc. Rehab. and discovered many of them feeling excited by that because they sometimes have to refer clients there and they're relieved to have a contact person that they'll know.
5. I finished my 50th book of the year (woo!) and started on 51.
6. Last night's How I Met Your Mother.
I really truly loved everything about this episode and I'm definitely placing it among my top favorite episodes of all time.
The storytelling was bang on. I love how this show zigs and zags between time-lines and how it established some more of the Barney/Robin chemistry that we saw in "Challenge Accepted."
The Fab Five were truly fabulous tonight. I thought the cold open with Barney being an action hero was hilarious. I love Ted's rain boots. I loved Ted's boy scout-ness. I loved Marshall Allen Poe. I loved the random bear attacks. I loved Kevin and his synchronicity with the group. I loved the addition of 4 more slaps (though I'd still argue that the ducky tie is cute and I want one of my own.) I loved the Barney/Lily bits and laughed at Alyson's line delivery about including Marshall's mom in the action. I loved that Marshall and Lily conceived in Barney's bathtub. I love the name "Hurricane Eriksen." I love that Robin's dad called and wasn't condescending to her ("Golf Weather!"). I love the rain. I love the gang playing in the rain because jumping into puddles = AWWW!!
And most of all, I love this:

I was totally hyperventilating when this was happening. Nick said it looked like I was having a brain aneurysm.

on 2011-11-08 10:36 pm (UTC)It was an awesome episode. For sure. I'll have to go back and look at the other ones from this season, but this might be the season 7 winner for me so far!!
I'm happy for you that your Pauquette colleagues took the news well. :)
And YAY on hitting 50 books! You rock!!!!!

I'm happy they did too. I definitely want to stay in touch with that crew.
I'm very excited about hitting that mark and I love that I'm still motivated to keep going. :)

XMFC was very fun. I just saw it for the first time last month.

on 2011-11-09 02:53 am (UTC)As for HIMYM, I absolutely LOVED the episode. It's easily my favourite this season, and such a step-up from the other episodes (not that the other episodes are bad, just easily forgettable).
Barney and Robin have the hottest kisses ever! I could stare at that lovely gif all day long. *sigh*

on 2011-11-09 06:12 am (UTC)I want to see that so bad. Mainly because I'm a huge Hunger Games fan and I want to see Ms. Lawrence in action. But then, James McAvoy isn't a bad draw, either.
I have read close to fifty books this year myself. I need to make a list. Should I post it?

on 2011-11-09 02:40 pm (UTC)Ooh! You absolutely should. I'd love to see it. I forward-dated my list for the year so that it sits at the top of my journal page.

on 2011-11-09 07:56 am (UTC)The Barney/Robin almost-kiss-in-the-rain was SO like our Roleplay it's not even funny!

on 2011-11-09 04:29 pm (UTC)2. XMFC is growing on me a lot. I'm a bit enamoured with Michael Fassbender. And I agree that Jennifer Lawrence did really well as Mystique.
3. Coupling is a lot of fun. Have you seen Ms. Bellman in Jekyll?
4. Yay! That's cool that it looks like you won't completely lose contact with Pauquette.
5. Congrats!
6. Haven't seen it, so can't comment. :)
