Snogged: An Insatiable State of Mind

1. I attended the Wisconsin Counseling Association's Fall Summit over the weekend and had the pleasure of running into old classmates, as well as running into folks from last year's summit who remembered me (sure, this was mostly just a kick-ass chick named Sabryn, but who cares? It's nice to be remembered.) This was a wonderful thing because it meant I had an automatic lunch buddy. There was also an amazing keynote speaker who spoke about celebrating the resilient self and his poignant and emotional story brought the room to tears.

2. I watched X-Men: First Class (Finally) and I enjoyed it. James McAvoy is totally adorable and Jennifer Lawrence makes a fantastic Mystique.

3. I'm nearly done with season 3 of Coupling and I heart the heck out of Gina Bellman. She's so good at hamming up her role.

4. I told several of my work colleagues at Pauquette about my move to the Department of Voc. Rehab. and discovered many of them feeling excited by that because they sometimes have to refer clients there and they're relieved to have a contact person that they'll know.

5. I finished my 50th book of the year (woo!) and started on 51.

I HAVE A JOB INTERVIEW NEXT FRIDAY!!!!!!!

It's with the Pauquette Center for Psychological Services. I'm freaking stoked! I just hope that it goes smoothly and doesn't come with a 2 month waiting period.

I need to preface this Female Awesome day. I have NOT seen the new Harry Potter film yet and so help me, I will caps lock you butt if you spoil me on it. You can say it was awesome, you can say it sucked. That's it.

As much as I'm not thrilled to admit it, the song "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus feels like the story of my life right now. I want to thank everyone who gave me such support after my announcement yesterday and I can assure you that this fight isn't over yet.

My new goal is to have a permanent job (preferably in my field) by December 31st, 2010.

In other news, I'm now officially an adult volunteer for Teen Court. I have my first training on Dec. 1st and my first hearing is in February. Very excited about this. :)

Tomorrow, I'm going to the Wisconsin Counseling Association Summit (which is basically a fancy word for conference). I'm definitely looking forward to getting the chance to hear more about issues in my chosen field, along with getting the opportunity to network and meet new people. Who knows maybe I'll find someone who wants to hire me...because you know, a girl can dream, right?

The only bad part about it is that I have to wake up at 5:30 am. That's a half hour earlier than normal and I have to do it on a Saturday.

*sigh*

I'm pretty positive that coffee consumption will be critical.
