What started off of as a sorta innocuous looking pimple beneath my eye on Friday had rapidly turned my face into the of mutant...or the Elephant man...really, just take your pick.

Saturday:
Ann's Eye of Doom
I noticed that my eye was puffy and swollen on Saturday morning. Immediately dragged Nick out bed and went to Urgent Care. Urgent Care doctor reported that it was an infection that was not affecting my eye structure. Prescribed an antibiotic called BacTrim and encouraged warm compresses and follow-up with my regular physician in 2-3 day if condition worsens.

Sunday:

The puffiness and swolleness increased. Continued taken the antibiotic. Decided I was 99% positive I was going to call in sick since I can see out of my left eye, but have to squint a lot and thus refuse to drive right now. I also wasn't sure if I was contagious (I'm not.)

Monday:
Monday
Got an appointment scheduled with a physician's assistant. this morning. He didn't want to do anything other than talk outside the door with the nurse about how awful my eye looks and when he did finally talk to me, it was to say he wanted me to see a specialist. So the nurse got an appointment for me at the Davis Dueher Dean Clinic and I met with the eye doctor this morning. They couldn't tell me what was wrong either, but they gave me a new antibiotic to try called Amox-Clav. They also told me to take another day off of work and come in Wednesday morning at 8 am for a follow-up.

Able to wake up without crusted-shut eyes (Victory!) Also, it seems to be weeping, which the doctor assures me is healthy, but mentions that it'll be icky-worse like that before it gets better.

If the new antibiotic doesn't help I sure hope the specialist can do something soon, that looks so painful!

The new antibiotic does appear to be helping. At the very least, I've seen some marked improvement between yesterday and today and it's starting to drain on its own.
