I am reading Fifty Shades of Grey.

I know the reviews. I know that it's not great writing. I know that it was based off of a Twilight fanfiction, which given the repetition of certain things, really does not surprise me. I know that's it not even a good depiction of a BDSM relationship - for that, I'd acutally recommend Strike A Match, an AU Spara fic by purplefeen. Just saying.

With that said, it's a fluff piece that is absorbing enough to read quickly and that's what I need right now. Plus, Nick is out of the house this weekend so I have lots of hours to spent curled up on the couch and having myself a chick-lit/chick flick marathon with a comfy blanket and a mug of tea. :)

I read the whole trilogy, even though I was not impressed with the whole publicity of it. What kept me going was the story line behind it. What was driving Christen Grey? and the fact that the female character had enough of a back bone to say no at times. There was a lot of sex, but I could not say it was BDSM really. It was no better, or worse than some of the Historical Romance things I have read. An easy, no thinking series.
