A very good LJ friend of mine,
I knew her first as ShakenSilence. I remember when she came onto my radar. She had written a multi-chapter story about Willow and Angel becoming soul mates and I read every chapter. Her fiction and her artwork got better as she delved deeper into the fandom and it was a pleasure to watch her grow as an author and an artist.
It didn't take long for us to get to know each other and soon we exchanged emails and sent holiday cards to each other.
I will miss her fierce passion and her insights, but I am grateful that she is now free from the intensely horrible pain that plagued her.
My heart goes out to her family, especially her daughter, as they deal with this difficult and challenging time.

on 2014-12-09 09:25 pm (UTC)I'm still a Christian, but I align myself with the progressive Christian Left. I've become a lot more welcoming and accepting and able to love and respect people with all kinds of different beliefs, and I think that's what Megan has left me - I realized how much I respected that she passed the way she lived. I don't need to worry about where she is now because I've realized that such a question is so much bigger than I am that I know nothing. It's not my job to wonder what happened to her after she passed. My job is to continue to love her and respect her and remember her because she was a part of my life. I my not have known her well, but I do feel left with a gift because of this new way of thinking.

on 2014-12-10 12:28 am (UTC)Megan deserves that respect from those who loved her.
I know my husband, also an atheist, would expect the same.
