Many thanks are in order for the kiss and picnic basket v-gifts that I've received recently. In no particular order, I'd like to send my love and hugs to [livejournal.com profile] velvetwhip, [livejournal.com profile] niki1988, [livejournal.com profile] sweet_lyri, and [livejournal.com profile] rua1412.

11 – Genre – Do you prefer certain genres of fic when you're writing? What kind do you tend to write most?

I don't necessarily aim to shoehorn any of my stories into any one genre, though I generally favor angst, drama, and PWP. I can easily say I blame that preference on a few things. One, I don't think I'm all that funny when it comes to the written word so that puts comedy in a tough spot. Two, while I appreciate love and romance, I don't want to write stories that will be written off by readers as Harlequin. Three, I like the mood/atmosphere created by angst/drama. I like being able to make the characters hurt and cry and feel something that the show writers don't always portray (*coughcough* How I Met Your Mother *coughcough*). I've also been getting into writing fight scenes and those don't generally fly with fluff.

More meme tomorrow.

I'm off to read more of my book: Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher.
