Why Can't I Write Willow/Oz?

I've made an interesting discovery about myself and I especially want to apoloogize to rileysaplank for this because I'm still fully aware of the fact that I owe him a drabble.

It appears that I can't write Willow/Oz as a pairing and I don't know why.

I love Willow/Oz. I loved watching their romance unfold on Buffy and I hated it when he left. It broke my heart. They're one of those rare couples that snuck passed my unconventional radar and found a place in my favorite pairings list.

But when I sit down at the computer to write about him, something always happens. According to my tags list, I've only used the tag "pairing: Willow/Oz" twice. In one instance, Willow left Oz to save Angel from death ("How Willow Spent Her Christmas Morning") and in another, Oz was mudererd by Angelus.

I'm starting to think my subconscious doesn't want to challenge what they were on the show or that it doesn't know how to do the couple justice without effing something up.

*sigh*

Maybe I'm just weird or wired wrong.

I knew it was a big ask when I requested Willow/Oz as there are many Willow/Oz fans out there but very few Willow/Oz writers, in fact there's very few Oz writers. I won't be offended if you can't manage it, the fact that I know that you've attempted it is heartwarming enough.

I don't know why it's so hard though! I mean, I've written some Oz before (I even wrote Lorne/Oz once 'cause my muse got seriously random)

I think we all have those. I don't want to write Anya because I think that she was so fully "Joss" that I can't write her

Oddly, I have problem like that with Willow/Giles. I can't write them worth a darn no matter how hard I try. It's funny, because I have an easier time with some pairings I don't like...I have written more (and better) Spuffy than W/G.

Hey it happens Darlin' I can't write much of anything anymore because of the bad health I've had to deal with, I can't sit up at the PC too long. If I do write it always comes out stupid. We both know writers block. And I'm right there with you.

It's the only canon pairing that I've ever written, but like you, only twice. One time was as a gift for rileysaplank.

I've written a few canon drabbles but not too often. Unless you count Spangel as canon because it so is :)

I know what you mean by that. My problem lies with Piper/Leo with Charmed - I could never really write that pairing but yet I don't have a problem with say Piper/Cole or anyone else.

Everyone have ships that we can't write about. Mine is Spuffy for example.... well if I'd write that it's ^_^
