It Goes On and On and On and On...
Feb. 4th, 2011 01:47 pmSince this has worked out well for me before:
[Poll #1677206]
And now for a brief work rant. There's a new temp in the office helping out with the Accounting department (so NOT my area of expertise) because one of our Accounts Receivable folks is leaving in March to move to Wyoming.
Since learning some of the ropes, they've moved him into my cubicle so I work next to him all day. He seems like a nice guy. He's married, has three kids who have graduated and have lives and all that. But here's what irks me. The man never takes a break. I've never seen him stop working, not even when the break/lunch buzzer rings (ah, the joys of factory work.) I really wish he would though. He makes me feel guilty for being the occasional procrastinator and I don't like that feeling so much.

Kitten or Devil?
Oct. 28th, 2010 06:16 amFirst I do this:
Day 28 - Plotline you wish had never happened
Robin and Don.
While I'd be remiss if I didn't point out the horrible way Barney and Robin were treated during Season 5, I can't escape the fact that the writers are making my shipper heart flutter rapidly these last few weeks of Season 6.
So while I'm starting to learn forgiveness, I can discuss the ship that never should have sailed (despite already mentioning it in my Least Favorite Guest Star post.)
I get that the writers wanted to show Robin finding a love so strong she'd choose it over her career, but they sure didn't put the effort into this one. What I hated most though is how the writers kept trying to shove this down our throats without giving us much of a reason to enjoy it.
Second I ask this:
I've always worked in an environment where we're encouraged to dress up for Halloween (mostly because it's fun.) So early this week, I asked the purchasing manager how things went at Power Packer. She said people used to dress up when she started, but that trend died out. Despite this, she said if I wanted to dress up, I totally could.
With this in mind, I was thinking I may just toss on one of my headbands instead of dressing to the nines.
So I'd like to you to vote (I apologize that there's no poll.)
1/ Kitten.
2/ Devil.

Poll: What Makes For "Good" Smut?
Jun. 1st, 2010 10:28 amI'm quite certain this is an question that's been asked in various forms from various people, but I figure it can't hurt to take a stab at it within my own corner of the Livejournal universe.
Please keep in mind that my goal is not to limit this question to a certain fandom. All fandoms are welcome. This includes those folks who just love a good old-fashioned work of fiction or non-fiction that has nothing to do with a television show, a movie, a role-playing game book, etc.
Also, please feel free to be as objective or as subjective as you desire and most importantly, have fun with it.

Poll: LJ and Work
Mar. 5th, 2009 12:17 pmThis question may not apply to everyone but I'm curious to see whether or not my flist checks their Livejournal during their work day.
I probably look at LJ at least twice during my work day because it helps the time go a little faster. That and I catch my work supervisor looking at facebook and myspace all the time so I feel a little less guilty about it.

My goal for today is to write the sequel to one of these (both will get written so no worries)
And as a note of interest, my Barney/Lily story will become a Barney/Marshall/Lily story for the sequel.
If you don't care or don't read HIMYM, don't feel like you have to vote, okay?

Poll: Beta Help Filter
Mar. 3rd, 2008 11:04 amI was thinking it might be beneficial to set up a filter specifically to ask for beta help with my fictions. For the record, if you sign up to be on it, I don't expect you to be willing to work on everything. I understand that people have real lives that get in the way. I just thought this might be a good idea.

ATTN BUFFY FANS: I NEED YOUR HELP!
Oct. 10th, 2007 10:10 amOne of my former professors asked me to do a presentation on Buffy for her class. The students are being assigned an article and I get to talk about and show an episode. The following list are episodes referenced in the article and I'm curious to know what you think I should show. If you can think of another episode, please leave it in the comments but only choose ONE.
Thanks for all your help!
EDIT: Just as a heads up, I showed "Prophecy Girl" last year and the student who did it before me showed "Hush." I'd prefer not to show either one of these again.
