The Midwest "snow-mageddon", as [livejournal.com profile] hisui_ryoshi so aptly put it, is currently preventing me from driving home from my parents' house.

The blowing winds, drifting snow, and cold temperatures certainly don't make me want to head out onto the roads to risk life and limb (See, I'm all about safety first.) Plus, I already took Monday off so I don't even have to go work tomorrow- because I'm going to interview for an Autism place in Madison.

(By the way,I'm way less excited about that one now that I know they can't give me the supervision hours I need, but I figure the interview experience is still worth the trip.)

Still, I can't shake the feeling that I'd rather be at home with my boy, watching the Community holiday special, with a cup of warm cocoa.

*sigh*

ETA: Things cleared up a bit so I got the go ahead from my dad to venture out. It took me about 45 minutes longer than normal to get home, but I made it and I'm safe.

I'm glad you got home safely!

This is the time of year when those of us in California like to feel incredibly smug. I spent today in Berkeley with friends. We sat outside for an hour (without jackets on) and chatted. :-)

Be as smug as you want.
At least I know how to drive through it.

Yep. People here panic at the sight of a raindrop. Snow would cause them aneurysms.
