Day 12 - Your favorite LGTB movie (or one you’d like to see) )

In other news, Nick had the day off of work today so we decided to cash in on a few comp tickets we had for various places in Wisconsin Dells. The first of which was Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf. Now, I'm no mini-golf expert, but I do have fun playing and I'm generally okay with the fact that Nick has a record of beating me 100% of the time. Today, however, the tables were turned in my favor. I made par for the majority of the holes (medium difficulty) and managed to win the first game. Since Pirate's Cove has five courses and there were few people out today, we decided to try the most difficult course. That's when something unbelievable and totally squee-inducing happened...

I scored two CONSECUTIVE holes-in-one.

And even though I botched the next few holes after (four-five strokes), I didn't care. I could not stop smiling. I was smiling so much that my cheeks were starting to hurt. And Nick loved every second of it. (It's good to know that he's not a sore loser.)

After mini-golf, we went over to the Robert World and Exploratory. It hasn't changed much since I went there as a kid. There's still cheesy animatronics and the science/technology is way out-dated. I think it helped that we got in for free because that made us feel more free to be dorks and just enjoy ourselves. I particularly loved the infinity room...and not just because Nick and I recreated the famous Luke Skywalker/Darth Vader scene on the bridge.

Day 4 - The first person you came out to and that story )

So last night I was supposed to go to Can't Stop the Serenity* with some of my friends (Margo, Missy, Adam, and Anna). Before I get into the details of how the stars were not aligned in my favor last night, I should point out that we were planning to buy tickets at the door so no money was lost.

Anyways, on Wednesday, Margo told me she wasn't going to come because she needed to work on her Multicultural project for the class she's taking this summer. Yesterday morning, Missy sent me a message on Facebook to say that she was going to be stuck in the vet clinic all day and there wasn't any way she could get there on time. I wasn't too worried about the cancellations at that point since I figured Adam and Anna were still coming. But then Adam called about two hours before I was going to start driving to say that he'd come down with some digestive health problems and he wasn't sure they'd pass in time for him to get there. We decided to give it a few hours, just because he knew how excited I was about going and he wanted to be able to go as well. As fate would have it though, his illness got worse and he had to cancel (which meant Anna had to cancel because he was her ride.)

I was bummed and disappointed about not getting to go, of course, but it turned out somewhat okay as Erin and John invited Nick and I over for the night so we just hung out with them.

*Can't Stop The Serenity is a charity event for Equality Now (an organization that Joss Whedon is in full support of). Money is raised via screenings of Serenity and Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, along with various merchandise items and raffles.

As for today, I kinda want to go see Despicable Me, but Nick doesn't want too. I don't mind seeing movies by myself, but I'm feeling lazy and I'm not sure I want to spare the effort.

ETA: I went to the movie anyways and I had a blast. Mood is much improved. :)
