Since I had the day off, I had a fairly low-key day that was filled with lots and lots of television and movie watching. I'm quite certain this recap will make me sound like I have no life.

I caught up on Leverage. I still need to watch last night's episode, but I figure I'm not doing to bad there. Parker, Hardison and Eliot remain my favorites this season and I think the Van Gogh episode is my favorite so far this season.

I watched the So You Think You Can Dance results show from last Thursday (2 of 8 eliminated). I was incredibly impressed by the League of Extraordinary Dancers and I wasn't too bothered by the cuts. Both dancers who were eliminated had annoyed me early on in the season, but they each had a dance or two that redeemed them a little in my eye. Still, neither one holds a candle to Sasha, Melanie and Marko. I can't wait to see those three crack their way into the finale. :)

I watched the first disc of Boy Meets World's Season 5 and found myself squeeing because **Shawn and Angela. *dies of cuteness***. I was also amused by the random appearance by Melissa Joan Hart, playing her character from Sabrina The Teenage Witch, and Salem (the cat) who was from the same show. Oh ABC Fridays in the '90's, I've missed you.

I also watched the first two episodes of The Nine Lives of Chloe King. I'm happy to reassure [livejournal.com profile] dragonydreams and [livejournal.com profile] angelskuuipo that I'm hooked. I look forward to watching more of it tomorrow night.

Finally, I watched the film, Cedar Rapids. I was mostly in it for the Midwest references, but it wasn't bad. I do have one tiny complaint though: **Omar Little (from the Wire) never swears on the show. Don't get me wrong, I appreciated the imitation done by Isaiah Whitlock, Jr. (who happens to be on the Wire as a different character), but it's all about the details people!**

A Proper Blog Post :)

1. Working at the Registrar's office is going as well as always, even if my time there tends to drag on a bit everyday. For those who don't know, I do a lot of data entry-type stuff at my job and I answer the phones and talk to students and all that. I've actually been doing this for the last six years so I'm pretty much a pro by now.

2. I'm still enjoying the emotional thrill ride that is my Counseling Internship. Granted, some of the kids are real shits, but I love 'em anyways.

3. Nick and I are going to be celebrating our 6 year anniversary in a few weeks (Dec. 2 is the exact date but because that doesn't fall on a weekend, we're doing it Dec. 4) and we're going to Ginza of Tokyo for sushi :) I'm super excited about going there because it's one of my most favorite restaurants.

4. I got the new Flight of the Conchords CD last night and it's awesome and funny and awesomely funny.

5. I absolutely love last night's episode of Glee. The music and the devotion to side character development made me smile :)

6. I'm also quite happy with the results of last night's So You Think You Can Dance. I mean, it sucks that all the tappers are gone now but I can see why that would be the case. I'm crossing my fingers that Channing is next to go. She may be talented, but she really comes across as a total ice queen.

7. I'm not happy to find out that Dollhouse got canceled because it means I won't get my fix of Victor and Sierra anymore. However, I'm also not surprised and I'm glad that FOX plans to run all 13 episodes still.

8. I'm currently in the middle of three books right now, one of which is a book on CD. The first is a "fun" book called The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie. It's got all the good stuff like betrayal, violence, romance, good and evil, magic, etc. And it's got Inquisitor Glotka who's gotta be one of the best characters ever. He's a sadistic, torture-loving man who suffers from his own disability (gotten when he was tortured during the war). The second book is Guy'd Lines, which is written my on-site supervisor at the counseling center who's name just happens to be Guy. It's a culmination of what he's learned being a therapist and it's really quite useful. The third (my book on CD) is Tweak: Growing Up On Methamphetamines." It's a memoir written by Nic Sheff and it details his descent into drug addiction.

So there you have it. An update on me :)

ACK! I can't believe I really haven't done this yet! And considering how much I loved premiere Monday, I'm quite surprised I haven't squeed myself to death.

HIMYM - 5.01 )

TBBT - 3.01 )

Castle - 2.01 )

Glee - 1.04 )

And one more brief thought from this dutiful thinker: I can't wait for the performance rounds to start for So You Think You Can Dance. I mean, the auditions are entertaining enough but I watch the show for the dance routines and the talent, not for the people who really can't dance at all.
