It's stupidly cold outside today. It's currently -16ºF outside and the wind chill is making it feel like -37ºF.

I suppose on the bright side, it is still warmer here than it is on Mount Everest. There's also more oxygen and I don't have to climb any mountains. I've also read that the arctic chill should kill off some emerald ash borer nests.

The other bright side is that my car started this morning and I have plenty of hot cocoa and tea to reward myself with today.

Still, don't let my optimism fool you.

I WANT SUMMER BACK!

5 –If you have ever had a character try to push their way into a fic, whether your "muse" or not, what did you do about it?

Well, my initial desire for Self-Destruct Button was not to include Kennedy at all. She's not a character I ever liked on the show and there are very few writers out there who can compel me to care about her. Still, she managed to squeeze herself right into the first two chapters and I'm glad she did. Things may not have ended well for Kennedy, but overall, I don't think Willow could have gotten to the place she's at without Kennedy being in the picture.

---

In other news, I hate not having AC in my apartment. Central air is something I grew up on so admittedly I'm a little spoiled. Nick, on the other hand, grew up sweltering and doesn't feel we need the "indulgence."

Stupid fiscal responsibility.

Will I end up on top? You can bet on it, bet on it, bet on it. You can bet on me!

Yes...my LJ title is from High School Musical 2. I don't care if you judge me. I fully embrace my dorkiness.

Moving on...

It is absolutely chilly today. It’s currently -1*F (-18*C for my non-American friends) and our wind chill values are between -5*F and -10*F. It’s definitely one of those days where I’d rather stay inside with a warm mug of cocoa and a book, but alas I’m working for Power Packer.

Speaking of Power Packer, I totally forgot my headphones today so I don't get to listen to music. :/ I’ve also been informed that my time here is running out. The boss basically said that once I finish my massive data entry project, I’m done. I wager it will probably take me until the end of next week to finish though so at least I have a little more time to earn a paycheck.

In other news, I watched last night’s How I Met Your Mother and the Glee episode that aired after the Superbowl yesterday.

I absolutely loved HIMYM. Oh Honey )

Now for my Glee thoughts. The Sue Sylvester Shuffle )

Last but not least, I ordered a shirt from the Woot!Shirt Day of Reckoning two weeks ago and it came in the mail last Friday. I got the chance to wear it Sunday because I met my friend, Meg, for lunch. I loves it. :)

At my boss's encouragement, I took a snow day today and it's a good thing I did because not even Nick was able to get out this morning and he's a way better snow driver than me. Sadly, his boss made him call a cab (and promised to reimburse him) because he's the only graphic designer who lives in town and stood a chance at making it in. I guess he's like one of three people in the building today.

So far I've shoveled the back sidewalk and did my best to shovel out my car. I'm quite grateful that I didn't have to shovel the front walk because we got a visit from the snow blower fairies (Aka our neighbors). I started a new novel: Please Stop Laughing At Me by Jodee Blanco, did the dishes, and caught up on Lie To Me. I only have the last two episodes left to watch. It does bum me out a little that there are only two more episodes left of Season 3 (last night was the season finale).

In other news, I got a phone call today from one of the places I'd applied to in Madison called A Helping Heart. The position involves serving as a caregiver for adolescent girls who are suffering from mental illness. They offered me an interview for tomorrow afternoon after I persuasively convinced her that my Master's degree doesn't necessarily make me "overqualified." I figure it can't hurt to at least go in and see what they have to offer, especially since things are still a bit uncertain with the Pauquette situation. I don't really see it as me giving up on Pauquette though. It's really more me trying to have a back-up plan so I'm prepared in the event of my worst-case scenario.

Anyway, on to the letter!

The PENULTIMATE Letter-Day 29 — The person that you want tell everything to, but are too afraid to )

I'm grateful to not be located in the part of the state that's predicted to get 30 inches of snow, but it seems like there were certainly be lots of gusting winds and drifting snow between tonight and tomorrow. I hope that those of you in the thick of it are being safe!

Remember: Be Prepared! Not Scared!
